THE PROCESS - HOW IT WORKS: |
Identification of specific processes or production lines requiring improvement - This could be a single
area of a plant facility or it could be one of several problematic areas of the factory. Identify specific
on-going problems and causes of lost production. The troublesome process or production line is given a case
number for identification purposes.
Define acceptable (realistic) production (through-put) rates that are not currently being achieved (goals).
Prioritize productivity problems.
Contract with AMT for program services.
Gather existing technical documentation to include machine schematics, machine parts lists, fluid
power system/s documentation and parts lists, set-up and maintenance manuals, electrical power documentation,
electrical control documentation, process control/PLC information. Verification of documentation accuracy.
Reverse engineering (when/where necessary) - Where machine/process documentation is not available,
provide for the production of accurate documentation, schematics, parts lists, maintenance manuals and set-up
procedures.
Propose equipment modifications (as/if necessary), process control modifications (when/where necessary
to achieve production goals) (if practical and if possible)
Maintenance personnel information gathering - A process of discovery to determine what assigned maintenance
personnel and supervision know and what they need to know to properly maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment
within the case number. This will be the foundation for a training needs analysis.
Develop a training needs analysis (if maintenance's equipment knowledge is considered deficient).
Develop an appropriate training plan for all maintenance personnel involved with the operation of the case
number.
Provide a formal report for completed tasks (above).
Contract for new documentation development, possible equipment modifications, maintenance personnel
training (if necessary).
Develop new documentation (manuals, schematics, parts lists) as necessary.
Contract and coordinate engineered process and equipment modifications (if required).
Provide maintenance department training - Training may contain fundamental technology training and
system-specific training components depending upon the outcome of the needs analysis.
The Productivity Partners program provides engineering expertise that can cause dramatic energy
cost reductions along with increased production and increased reliability. The service that we provide can pay
for itself with energy savings and increased up-time. Explore the possibilities with us. You and your company
can easily see if you are a good candidate for Productivity Partners. Applied Motion Technologies
begins the process by meeting with you and your key area personnel. We audit plant fluid power equipment,
electrical equipment and the machine tools that are part of the process. If necessary we will instrument the
machine and/or process to accurately evaluate machine working cycles. After all of this has been completed a
formal proposal is developed and delivered for your approval.
We believe that the key elements of Productivity Partners are the development of accurate
equipment and process documentation, implementation of necessary modifications and/or repairs, the development
of necessary maintenance personnel skills that are properly coordinated to the actual equipment and process.
